Let's Play: Warhammer 40K Tacticus - Spyder Boss Fight

Let's Play is Warhammer 40K Tacticus - Spyder Boss Fight.

I appreciated the game much more as we entered the second boss fight. Some tactics are involved as the levels get more challenging, and as characters unlock more potent abilities, you must start watching out for friendly fire!

My opinions on the game have improved; it is still a straightforward mechanic of moving here, using power, wait your turn again, and I am okay with that.

Is anyone else playing this? Let me know, and we can start a guild.

How to Paint Tabletop Ready - Necron Novokh Technomancer - 40k

Time to dive into the world of the Cryptek.

Their main fields of study include dimensional dissonance, singularity manipulation, atomic transmutation, elemental transmogrification and countless other reason-defying technologies. They are masters of the scientific and technological, and in many ways, a Cryptek's powers mirror those employed by the psykers of different races, such as the Imperium and Eldar. However, they differ in that instead of using a mutant mind to channel Warp energies, the Cryptek employs arcane science to harness the universe's fundamental forces.

Crypteks operate in pan-galactic conclaves, many specializing in a particular technology field. Though they have no official rank in the political structure of a dynasty, they wield incredible influence. They often serve in the courts of Necron Overlords and Necron Lords as close confidants. The powers of Crypteks are highly sought after by Necron Overlords, who will meet whatever demands are made by the Crypteks in exchange for their services. Crypteks wear Essence-Tomes, tiles forged from whatever substance Cryptek is studying. As the Cryptek advances in his studies and mastery of his field, he adds additional tiles to the chain. Chronomancers have tiles made from time, while Voidmancers' essence-tomes are constructed from black holes and dimensionalists from the wounds created between dimensions.

Ultimately, the only thing that holds the ambition of a Cryptek in check is another of its kind. Should a retained Cryptek rise too far above his station, a Necron Overlord will attempt to replace him by luring a more tractable Cryptek away from his rival. Even though this has complications; for a while, no Cryptek will knowingly replace another of the same conclave, a rival from another conclave will happily do so. Once his services are acquired, a Cryptek’s duties stretch far beyond the tomb world. It is common for an Overlord to grant a Cryptek the first pickings of precious resources in exchange for his services on a campaign. Such a bargain serves both sides well; a tomb world’s resources are limited, and the Cryptek’s trade requires that he have a ready supply of raw materials.

Today's Cryptek is a Technomancer: These masters possess the power to augment and swiftly repair Necron units and Canoptek constructs upon the battlefield.

Hope you enjoy!

Necron Warriors Painted plus lore.

"Wit is not required in my vassals: they need only the ability to fight and die in the furtherance of my boundless glory. Only the most merciful and beneficent of rulers would spare their subjects from the burden of independence, do you not agree?"

— Thaszar the Invincible, Phaeron of the Sarnekh Dynasty, Supreme Warbringer of the Crownworld of Zapennec

Necron Warriors are the primary infantry troops of the soulless, undying mechanical monstrosities known as the Necrons. They were created from most ancient humanoid Necrontyr species who agreed to be bound to the will of their Star Gods, the terrible entities known as the C'tan. The Necrontyr's consciousnesses were transferred into robotic bodies made of the living metal called necrodermis. Over time, the new unliving bodies dulled the Necrontyr's minds and abilities to feel emotion or pleasure. Over many millennia, the ultimate outcome of this process of gradual desensitization was that the Necron Warriors became little more than soulless automatons, the warrior-slaves of the still-sentient Necron royalty and military elite who sought to rebuild their star-spanning empires across the portions of the galaxy now controlled by the "lesser races."

Hundreds of thousands of Necron Warriors form the cold heart of a Tomb World's armies. They are implacable, emotionless and terrifying soldiers -- the inexorable emissaries of death itself. Yet on closer inspection of a Necron Warrior, aberrant details become visible that act against the image of the inevitable reaper. Its reactions, though precise, are slow. Its limbs, though solid and sleek, are pitted and corroded, covered with an oily fluid seeping from aged joints. Its movements are jerky; every so often, it struggles as corroded and eons-old engrammic synapses misfire. In truth, the Necron Warrior would almost be pitiable were it not for the merciless gleam flickering in its eyes and the pervasive sense that it is less a sentient creature than one of the walking dead.

Grim and remorseless machine-creatures, each Necron Warrior carries the dimly echoed remains of a living mind bound into eternal servitude. They are implacable and ruthless killers, largely ignorant of their nightmarish condition. But despite their shambolic gait, they are all but unstoppable; their bodies able to repair almost any harm done to them and compelled by the will of their lords, they are tireless as agents of destruction.

Necrons - Novokh Dynasty

Looks like the Necrons are here to stay. This will become my main source page for all things to do with my Necrons. Though I doubt I will go down the hole like my Aeldari page I did want to make sure everything was easy to find. I hope you enjoy it!

Name: Novokh Dynasty

Phaeron: Galmakh

Capital: Dhol VI

Colours: Silver and Red

Overview

The distinctive colour scheme of the Novokh derives from their battle rituals in the time before biotransference. Having slain their enemies in battle, Novokh warriors would daub their faces and arms in the blood of the vanquished, a practice now echoed in the crimson carapaces of their soldiery. Today, the Novokh are brutal butchers who do not stop until all organic foes have been completely annihilated and are one of the most terrifying Necron dynasties to face. Though initially mellow, upon witnessing blood the warriors of the Novokh will be overcome by their engrams and go into an unstoppable killing frenzy. The Novokh specialize in close combat, utilizing large numbers of infantry and Lychguard. They also do not hesitate to deploy large numbers of Destroyer Cultists.

The territory of the Novokh dynasty is found in Ultima Segmentum and includes the crown world of Dhol VI and the active tomb world Draven. The dynastic symbol of the Novokh represents the six wars of conquest which emanated from the dynasty's original core; this is a simple design of the type often seen in aggressive younger dynasties. The Novokh Dynasty is currently fighting against numerous Ork hordes. Since the formation of the Great Rift, they have begun a campaign against the forces of both the Imperium, Orks, and Chaos within Imperium Nihilus.

During a battle with the Death Guard Warband known as the Pallid Hand on Hollowfall, forces from the Novokh Dynasty were infected by Mortarion's bio-mechanical Ferric Blight. The disease spread to their Tomb Worlds and has created a devastating epidemic.

The Dynasty is currently embroiled in a war with the Tyranid Hive Fleet Arachnae.

Notable Members

Phaeron Galmakh, the Moon Killer. He gained fame before the Great Sleep by destroying moons to forever shatter the gravity of worlds that defied his rule. Galmakh's Decurion recently put a Militarum Tempestus strike force to flight, and even now amasses more power in the Ultima Segmentum.
